Married? no
How many children? I have 3 sons, all are the four legged variety
How long have you been with Creative Health Services? I've been with Creative Health Services for eleven and half years
In your words, what do you do at Creative Health Services? I supervise the children's case management department which consists of 5 case managers.  It's difficult to give a description or a daily snapshot of case management because no two days are ever the same.  We perform a multitude of daily tasks, some of which are; inquiring about and linking to community resources, informal support building, using an individual's/family unit's strengths to achieve goals and crisis intervention.  And, certainly cannot forget about the documentation of the services provided....gotta love paperwork.
Why do you do what you do? When I was a teenager, I had lost a loved one.  I saw this loved one struggle with mental illness.  At the time, I didn't know what was going on with this person, I just knew something was wrong, but didn't know how to convey that.  After the loss, I decided that I wanted to dedicate my life to helping those who are unable to help themselves.
What keeps you working with Creative Health Services? My co-workers are the number one reason I have been at Creative Health as long as I have been.  I also love that no two days are the same in case management, it's alsways changing and evolving.  Lastly, I love working with the individuals and their families in the community.
In your time with Creative Health Services, what accomplishments are you most proud of? What I am most proud of isn't what happens inside the walls of 11 Robinson.  What I am most proud of is when I happen to be out in the community, run into a faily I had worked with years previous and I come to find that they are doing well in their recovery.  I find it quite rewarding to hear that they often look back and they can pinpoint times when there was something I had said or did that had made an impact in their life (even though, at the time, we may have had differing opinions).
What's your favorite part of your job? One of the things that I enjoy most is spending time with a family and seeing them make progress in their recovery.  Another would be doing socialization activities with children receiving our support.
What do you value most in life? I treasure my family and friends
Favorite TV shows: I enjoy watching Criminal Minds and Grey's Anatomy.  I also love watching The Food Network's, Diner's Drive-ins and Dives shows.
Favorite movies: I love comedies and drama's.  My all time favorite is "It's a Wonderful Life".
Favorite author(s)/books(s): I love to read.  I enjoyed the Harry Potter and Twilight series.  I also enjoy reading books by Jodi Picoult.
One food I could not live without is potato filling my Mom makes during the holidays, great stuff!
Favorite musical groups:
Now:
I have a wide variety that I listen to, if I had to pick some favorites, right now I'd say Kings of Leon, Theory of a Deadman and Dave Matthews Band.  What I listen to depends on what mood I'm in.  Some of my all time favorite songs are, "Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison, "The Rover" by Led Zeppelin, "Fire Woman" by The Cult and "Solsbury Hill" by Peter Gabriel.
When I was in Jr. High: I loved Let Zeppelin, The Cult and The Cure.
How do you relieve stress? Weather permitting, I try to go out for a walk to clear my mind.  Since I enjoy reading, that is also helpful to me.
Hobbies and/or other interest: I love horses, so much so, I used to own one.  Other things that I enjoy include sports (baseball, football, hockey and racing), cars, shopping and traveling.  I love going to the beach and spending time with my family and friends.
Things I am passionate about: I'm passionate about my family and the work that I do.  I also volunteer time to a recreational support group for siblings of children with disabilities called Sibshop.  The group has two excellent co-facilitaters, who plan fun, high energy activities for an incredible bunch of kids.  It's truly a joy to be a volunteer for that group!
If you could possess one superpower, what would it be? I think I'd like to be able to travel through time.
What is your favorite day of the year? I think everyday is precious, but if I had to pick a favorite, I would choose Thanksgiving Day.
Do you have any hidden talents? Ha, if I share it, it won't be hidden any more now would it?
When I die, this is what I want remembered about me: That I was kind, that I cared about others and that I was someone who offered a helping hand.
One of your favorite quotes:
"our truest life is when we are in dreams awake" Henry David Thoreau
